History

Wing Chun is a unique fighting-art which was in the past a more secret combat-art and today it is considered as an inteligent self-defence-method. According to the legend the famous Shaolin-Monastery was burnded down by regime troups approx. at 1700, because the meditating and combative strong monks were counted as regime enemy. Some monks could hide away, among them the especially in combat experienced nun No Moi. She had, same as the others, to hide. Basing on this occurrence the nun developed a totaly new combat-method, which should leave anything to chance, helping the weaken to gain the victory and avoiding the mistakes of the combat-method she knew. It arose a total scientifically style, in which the observance of principles are well to the fore and not only the performance of certain techniques. From her hiding-place the nun moved on and finally she met on her way the beautiful girl Yim Wing Chun. Yim had problems, as a well-known beater bothered her already for a longer time. As the nun lerned about it, she felt obliged to help because of her righteousness. She instructed the girl in the new combat-method. Yim Wing Chun trained very hard and could use the method. On the occasion of a renewed confrontation with the beater she conquered him without troubles and since that time he dind't bother her anymore. No Moi, nevertheless, before she moved on, however, named the combat-art to her first disciple. She must promise her to keep the combat-art "Wing Chun" secret and only pass it on within the family.

And so it happened:

Yim Wing Chun instruced her husband, Leung Bok Chau, who again passed his knowledge to Leung Lan Kwai. His disciple was Wong Wah Bo, how shared his knowledge with the Shaolin-Master Leung Yee Tei. The next disciple was Leung Jan, how was called at that time "Lion of KungFu". His school Chan Wah Shun carried on, who educated the famous grant-master Yip Man. Yip Man was the last grant-master of the united Wing Chun- family and the first who educated Wing Chun in wide public. So he is the main responsible for the maintenance and distribution of this fascinating fighting-art. One of his master-disciples, grand-master Leung Ting, could spread, with the help of his disciple, grandmaster Kernspecht, the style of her own kind of "WingTsun" over the whole world and could gain exeeding the borders of the own fighting-art great respect. Sifu Axel Oschlies, who practize this combat-art since 1982, was appointed in 1993 as Sifu. Further he has experience for more than 15 years in the education of adults. His experiences are available for all disciples of the DLJO. Every disciple knows at every time, how far he is skilled with the method, what still is in front of him resp. which themes he must deepen. "Chinese instructions-method" is extraneous to the DLJO. Therefore every disciple has a real chance to master the whole system.
